Spring Birds

Spring Birds

An interesting collection of birds at Ash Creek Wildlife Area (Modoc County CA) – l to r: long-billed dowitcher (Limnodromus scolopaceus), killdeer (Charadrius vociferus), red-winged blackbird (Agelaius phoeniceus) and willet (Tringa semipalmatus). The dowitcher will continue its spring migration to the northern tundra, while the other three species will remain in our area throughout the summer.
