Red-breasted nuthatches (Sitta canadensis) and mountain chickadees (Poecile gambeli) are often difficult to photograph, at least for me, because these little birds are constantly on the move. By the time I focus my camera, my subject is out of the frame.
To my delight, while watching the “bird bath willow” along Ash Creek (Lassen County CA), I not only saw and photographed a bathing yellow warbler female (see “Bathing Warbler” 08-22-14), but was able to capture a red-breasted nuthatch and mountain chickadee in the same picture. Two with one click!
There really is nothing more to add as I covered these two birds in previous posts (“Mountain Chickadee” 10-21-12; “New Tenants” 05-05-14; “Red-breasted Nuthatch” 06-02-14 and “Nesting Red-breasted Nuthatch” 06-04-14) – simply sharing a happy moment.
