This bald eagle (Haliaeetus leucocephalus) photographed along County Road 91 in Modoc County CA requires no story line. What a magnificent bird!
Last night at the opening of the Fiesta Bowl (I attended K-State MANY YEARS AGO) as the Star Spangled Banner was being played a Bald Eagle was released and flew over the outstretched
U.S. Flag on the football field and gracefully landed exactly on cue as the song ended…what a display that was !
The eagle “flyovers” always give me goosebumps. I find I tend to hold my breath until the eagle safely returns to its handler! Leonard had the game on last night while I downloaded and sorted pictures. Being an Oregonian at heart and an alum of Oregon State, I was for the U of O.
