Derby Day

Our two pensioner mares were once racehorses. Now they live a life of leisure with nothing more to do than wander a hundred acres of pasture and enjoy life – a far cry from the racetrack. In honor of the Kentucky Derby, which is being run today, I decided to share these pictures of Kallie and Candi.

Deer, antelope, coyotes, bobcats and a myriad of other smaller mammals and birds coexist on our ranch with the horses. It is a peaceable kingdom as these pictures attest.

Enjoy the “Run for the Roses”.
